Why sellers want their own sales channel
More and more merchants realise that depending only on marketplaces is risky: commissions climb, rules tighten, and it helps to own a sales channel. But the moment you think about your own online store, one question appears: how do you deliver orders across the country without your own logistics?
That is where Ozon Logistics comes in. It is a service from Ozon that lets merchants sell goods from their own websites while using the full power of Ozon's logistics infrastructure.
What the service is
In short, Ozon opens access to its logistics network: warehouses, sorting centres, courier delivery and, most importantly, pickup points. At launch the company announced around 70,000+ pickup points, and they really do appear even in small towns. As a result, your goods can reach almost any location.
You build sales through your own site, and Ozon handles delivery, storage and handover of orders to customers.
How Ozon Logistics works
There are two conditions to use the service:
- You have an online store.
- The products you sell on your site are already listed on Ozon.
This matters: Ozon Logistics only works with items that exist in your Ozon store. So first you publish product cards on the marketplace, connect an FBO (fulfilment by Ozon) or FBS (fulfilment by seller) warehouse model, and only then launch logistics for your own site.
The process looks like this:
- An API integration is set up between your site and Ozon via the Seller API.
- You create shipments to Ozon warehouses if you work on FBO, or prepare goods for FBS.
- A customer places an order on your website.
- The information is sent automatically to your Ozon seller account.
Ozon delivers the order to the buyer: to a pickup point or by courier.
No sales commission
Because you sell from your own store, the sales commission is 0 percent. You pay only for logistics and related services:
- storage in FBO
- pickup and delivery
- handover at pickup points
- courier delivery
That is a big advantage for anyone tired of counting and overpaying marketplace percentages.
How to connect
- Go to the All apps section in your Ozon Seller account.
- Fill in a short form.
- Set up the connection via the Seller API.
- Receive orders and ship them to customers.
The service starts working almost immediately after setup.
Why it appeared
This is a natural market development. More sellers are building their own websites and social channels because they do not want to depend on marketplace terms and commissions. Ozon sees this, and to avoid losing such merchants entirely, it offers at least the logistics layer.
The logic is simple:
- sellers move toward their own channels
- Ozon does not want to lose them completely
- so it offers its logistics and keeps the money inside its ecosystem
Everyone benefits.
Our view
We like the service and are already starting to use Ozon Logistics in our projects. It genuinely helps extend delivery coverage and makes the process convenient.
Yes, you can connect other delivery providers, but most sellers find it easier to work with what they already know, and Ozon's structure is genuinely strong. If your strategy is to reduce dependence on marketplaces and strengthen your own sales, Ozon Logistics is a good fit.
