Moving a 700-page website from Tilda to our own server
We moved more than 700 pages and 650 blog articles from a site builder to a private server, kept every address, replaced forms and payment with our own, and made automatic content publishing possible.
The task
Leave the site builder without losing page addresses, the blog, enquiries or search positions, and gain the freedom a builder does not give.
What we did
- Exported the whole site (457 pages, 425 of them in the sitemap). This is the base, but the export does not include the blog feed or forms.
- Deployed a copy on our own server on a separate address closed to search engines. Every address from the sitemap opened and the home page text matched the live one.
- Rebuilt the blog without the platform: 384 posts exported from the feed, plus 269 older articles in an archive section, with search, categories and load-more.
- Replaced the builder's forms with our own system (every enquiry arrives in Telegram at once) and connected our own payments with instalments.
- Set permanent 301 redirects for changed addresses, prepared robots.txt and the sitemap, closed service pages to indexing, and only then switched the live address.
- Turned on monitoring and daily backups from day one.
Before and after
| Before | After | |
|---|---|---|
| Publishing articles and news | By hand in the editor | Automatically: material arrives from agents |
| Blog | Platform feed | Our own blog: search, categories, 650+ articles, RSS |
| New sections | Limited to the builder's blocks | A seller reference with thousands of pages and a profit calculator |
| Enquiries | On the platform's servers | Our own system, instant Telegram notification |
| Site edits | Hours in the editor | We give a task to an agent and it makes the change |
| Monitoring | On the platform's side | A check every 5 minutes, daily backups |
Results
| Before | After | |
|---|---|---|
| Platform or server, per year | $200 | $240 |
| Time for site edits, per month | 3 working days (20-25 hours) | Minutes: we set a task for the agent |
Direct costs did not fall: the real gain is in hours of work and in a site that now grows by itself.
Takeaways
- Keep page addresses. For pages that change address, set permanent 301 redirects.
- Move the whole blog and make sure it works without calls to the old platform. The export does not include the blog feed, so posts must be exported separately.
- Reconnect forms and payment: they are tied to the builder's infrastructure and will not move on their own.
- Do not switch the old site off until the new one is verified: test on a closed copy first, then switch the address.
- Update robots.txt, the sitemap and analytics before launch.
- No move is risk-free. We promise careful work, not specific positions.

A group of AI agents runs our website and six YouTube channels: finds news, selects what matters, writes, fact-checks, voices, edits, publishes and reports. The same work done by hand would cost $5,500-$6,300 a month.
