Why the role changed
Our company runs marketing for product businesses, with a focus on growing sales through marketing and AI. For a long time we had a strong marketer on the team. He wrote website copy, built YouTube scripts, gathered keywords for articles, and generated ideas for newsletters, landing pages and ads. A classic digital specialist who earned around $1,700 a month, and earned it fairly.
Then the AI era arrived. At first I only tested tools: ask ChatGPT to rewrite a text, then to suggest headlines, then to draft a newsletter. At some point I sat down, looked at every process the marketer owned, and realised almost all of them could be automated. Here is how the workflow looks now.
How we feed expertise into AI
The company holds a lot of internal knowledge: marketplaces, marketing, sales funnels, content, scaling a business. Before, the marketer pulled that out drop by drop and turned it into articles and landing pages. Now we load the knowledge into the AI ourselves.
We use ChatGPT and other models and feed them our expertise. The input can be a recording of a conversation with an expert, a voice message, a note, a presentation, a mind map, anything. The AI then turns those fragments into blog articles, SEO content and YouTube scripts.
It also produces landing page copy, newsletters, content for social channels and even ad creative concepts. Below are the specific tasks AI now covers, with the tool we use for each.
Copywriting and scripts
All our copy goes through ChatGPT: websites, pages, product descriptions, newsletters, posts, videos. We give it the structure, the goal and the key insights that must appear in the piece.
We get a draft, edit it for 5 to 10 minutes, and the material is ready. The second task is YouTube scripts. I publish several marketplace videos a week.
A script used to take a day or two, including writing and approvals. Now I give the AI a video outline, a link to a couple of similar videos and my key points, and it produces a foundation in 5 to 10 minutes, in a conversational style that matches my tone.
Sometimes I even add jokes or phrases I actually use in articles and posts. It took time and a series of adjustments before the AI understood my style and what I expect from it, but it is a solvable task.
SEO and visual content
Next is keywords and SEO. We use Perplexity and ChatGPT with plugins, plus Code Interpreter, to collect keyword sets, analyse competitors and see what is currently gaining traffic. This used to take hours or days; now it takes 10 to 20 minutes at most.
Design and visuals are another task. Sora helps generate covers, banners and visual concepts, and it is also a strong video generator.
Landing pages and email
Landing pages used to take a marketer a week to structure and write. Now we give ChatGPT the blocks we want to see on the site, section by section, and get a ready template for Tilda or any other platform. Add the visuals and the site is done.
Email is the next task we delegate. We used to invent subject lines, write copy and build the layout. Now the AI does all of it. It can segment the audience, propose different email sequences and even set up A/B tests if you ask.
After a year of working with AI, one rule is clear: a well-written prompt can deliver a result you did not even expect.
What it costs
Before, one person handled marketing at around $1,700 a month. Now we pay for a ChatGPT subscription of a few tens of dollars plus a similar amount for Perplexity. In total, a few dozen dollars at most, and many tasks run on free versions.
These tools do not get sick, do not take holidays, do not ask for a raise and do not miss deadlines. But time matters even more. Work that took a week now takes two or three hours. We can launch sites, projects, articles and YouTube videos in a day or a few hours instead of weeks, which speeds up our scaling dramatically.
What it gives the business
We ship more content, more nurture sequences and more landing pages without growing the team. And this is not the meaningless rehash of internet articles that AI often produces. It is our own expert material.
AI is a working tool that can and should be implemented now, especially if you are a business owner with a limited budget who wants to test hypotheses fast, scale and build systematic marketing.
The marketer used to be the brain. Now the brain is you plus the AI. You load your knowledge, experience and ideas into it, and it packages them. That is the real shift.
The tools we use
- ChatGPT is the brain of the system. It writes copy, scripts and sequences, analyses competitors, structures landing pages, supports SEO and works through strategy.
- Perplexity AI is a strong tool for research, market analysis, keyword collection, trends and content ideas.
- Sora generates visuals and video from a text script, including voice and visual synthesis.
- Midjourney and Leonardo generate illustrations for social posts, landing pages and articles.
These are not all the services we use. Under the hood, our automation includes more complex processes that deliver the real automation, but this is the base.
Takeaway
AI is not just a saving. It is a new operating model where you build an ecosystem instead of hiring a person for $1,700 a month. Those who understand this first will grow fastest.
