Not long ago, our marketing relied on one strong specialist. He wrote website texts, scripts for YouTube, collected keywords for articles and came up with ideas for newsletters, landing pages and ads. He cost about $1,700 a month, and he was worth it.
In 2024 we started to test language models. First we asked one to rewrite a text, then to suggest headlines, then to build a newsletter. At some point we looked at all the tasks the specialist handled and saw that almost all of them could be automated. Here is the setup we use now.
The principle: expertise in, content out
We have a lot of internal knowledge on marketplaces, marketing, sales funnels and scaling. We load it into the AI ourselves: a recorded conversation with an expert, a voice note, a presentation, a mind map. The AI turns these fragments into blog articles, SEO articles, YouTube scripts, landing page texts, newsletters and social posts.
This is not AI inventing content out of thin air. It is AI packaging expert knowledge we provide.
What AI now does
- Texts. We give the structure, the goal and the key points. We get a draft and finish it in 5-10 minutes.
- YouTube scripts. What used to take a day or two now takes minutes: we provide an outline, a couple of reference videos and key points, and get a base script in our own conversational style. Setting this up took time and a series of adjustments.
- SEO research. Collecting keywords, analysing competitors and checking what trends. Hours and days became 10-20 minutes.
- Visuals. Covers, banners and illustrations.
- Landing pages. We give the AI block by block what the page must show and get a ready template, then add the visuals.
- Email. Subjects, texts, audience segments, chains of emails and even A/B tests.
What it costs
One specialist at $1,700 a month became subscriptions that cost a few tens of dollars. Many tasks run on free tiers. The tools do not take holidays or miss deadlines. More important is time: what took a week now takes two or three hours, so we launch sites, articles and videos in a day.
What AI does not replace
The expertise. If you feed the AI shallow input, you get shallow output. Our content works because it is built from real experience. The first lesson of the year was that a precisely written request can give a result better than you expected, and the second is that you still need a person who knows what a good result looks like.
